The Falcons will host the St. Louis Rams, their former NFC West nemesis. Prior to realignment in 2002, the Falcons lost six-straight games to the Rams after being swept in 1999, 2000 and 2001. Prior to the 1999 season, the Falcons had been on a four-game winning streak against St. Louis with series sweeps in 1997 and 1998. Last season the two teams met on Monday Night Football with the Rams taking a 36-0 win.

Michael Vick connected with receiver Trevor Gaylor with 17 seconds remaining to knot the score at 24 to force overtime. The Seahawks would eventually win 30-24 in the extra period.
